Accessibility

Last updated: October 22, 2026

We want everyone who’s thinking about medicine to be able to use premedmentor.ca, including people who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, magnification, voice control or other assistive technology.

Our standard

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. This is the standard referenced by Canada’s accessibility standard for ICT (CAN/ASC-EN 301 549) and exceeds the WCAG 2.0 Level AA requirement under Ontario’s Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA).

What we’ve done

  • Text and controls meet WCAG colour contrast ratios.
  • Every page can be used with a keyboard alone, with a visible focus indicator and a “Skip to main content” link.
  • Pages use meaningful headings, landmarks and labelled form fields.
  • Images have text alternatives, and links that open a new tab say so to screen readers.
  • Animations are turned off if you’ve asked your device to reduce motion.
  • Pages reflow on small screens and when zoomed to 400%.

Known limitations

Some linked third-party websites, documents and tools are run by others and may not meet the same standard. If you need something from our own site in another format, let us know and we’ll do our best to help.

Feedback

If you run into a barrier on this site, please tell us through our contact form. Tell us the page and what happened, and we’ll work to fix it.
